Special thanks to Fady for the idea and suggestion.
How it works: save time to calculate and generate a report how many tablets, labels needed to cover the # of days.
Scenario 1: Sig: take 1.5 tab PO 3 times a day for 14 days.
Input:
Max number of Quantity Per Card: 30
Total Full Tab Given Per Day: 3
Total 1/2 Tab Given Per Day: 3 (this means 3x of half-tab)
Total 1/4 Tab Given Per day: 0
Number of Days to Cover: 14
Report:
Full Tablets Needed:
3 full tablets/day × 30 days = 90 full tablets
Half Tablets Needed:
3 half tablets/day × 30 days = 45 tablets
Total quantity of tablets needed to cover 30 days: 135 tablets.
Total number of labels needed: 6
3 labels of 30 (full tablets)
3 labels of 15 (half tablets)
Scenario 2: Sig: take 1 tab once daily every Monday / Wednesday / Friday for 4 weeks.
Input:
Max number of Quantity Per Card: 30
Total Full Tab Given Per Day: 1
Total 1/2 Tab Given Per Day: 0
Total 1/4 Tab Given Per day: 0
Number of Days to Cover: 12
Why 12?
– first you need to know how many times they are taking it per week. Patient needs to take the 1-tab 3x per week,
then (3 x 4 weeks) = 12
Report:
Full Tablets Needed:
3 full tablets/day × 12 days = 36 full tablets
Total quantity of tablets needed to cover 12 days: 36 tablets.
Total number of labels needed: 2
1 label of 30 (full tablets)
1 label of 6 (full tablets)
